Cons and Clubs
The Gaming/Sci-fi Cons I work for, support and/or attend
Most Sc-fi cons have gaming, so I participate in both kinds of cons as much as I can.
- ConCarolinas - A general sci-fi Con I help start and ran for 4 years.
- MACE - Gaming Con that started in 1996 as ROC 96.5. I game Coordinate for it.
- StellarCon - A general sci-fi Con I ran gaming for from 2000 to 2006
- Round Con - A gaming and costuming con that I support through the CGA
- Dragon*Con - One of the greatest cons of all time. I only attend this one.
Gaming Related Groups and Mailing Lists
The Guilded Shadows - This is a group of loosely connected folks that play in my games. I misspelled gilded on purpose, in reference to the Guild - most of these guys are former members of the Guild. Since we all have either graduated or moved on fro the Guild in some way or another, we have faded back into the shadows, too old to relate to the young college crowd that is the Guild now. We were on YahooGroups and have since moved to Facebook.
The Carolinas Gaming Association - I started a group of gamers out of the GMs that have helped me over the years with StellarCon, MACE and now ConCarolinas. It's a loosely tied group of gamers, GMs, Con managers, and fans that work together to promote gaming in the Carolinas. Right now, it consists of just Convention Gaming, gut maybe in time it will grow into something. It is currently represented by my Yahoo group mailing list CGA_ConGaming.
The Guild - I help get the Guild to where it is today, but I didn't help "start" it. The Guild is now over 15 years old and holds gaming of all kinds every Friday, Saturday and Sunday on UNCC campus.
