Who is Seawolf?

July 28, 2011 Posted by Ron

"Seek the wolf in thyself"

Seawolf is me. Ron. Seawolf is a handle I adopted some time ago. I have a little Cherokee indian in me, from both sides of my family - roughly 1/16. I've determined through the kind of characters I like to play that my totem is of the wolf-spirit. I'm am also a Pisces. I combined the two to get seawolf.

We all gotta have our handles. Just in case you wanted to know…

I was born in the great year of 1969, in March on the 7th day, and grew up in the "lovely state" of New Jersey, in a place called Bridgewater. My childhood could have been worse, but it certainly could have been better. Went to high school at Bridgewater-Raritan High School East, and graduated in 1987 a very average student. I escaped NJ as soon as I could (you don't move away from NJ, you escape.). Just after I graduated high school, I lived in Charlotte, NC for several years, and then moved to Fort Mill, SC. I went to college at University of North Carolina at Charlotte, graduated in 1993 with a BS in Computer Science. I tried for my Masters in Computer Science at UNCC, but gave it up. See my resume for the status of my career, since it changes from year to year.

I am first and foremost a proud husband to my lovely wife Stephanie and father of a great kids Taylor, Keegan, and Aubrey as well as step-father of a great young man, Jordan Anderson. I am gamer, writer, sci-fi and sports fan, sci-fi and gaming convention organizers, computer programmer, amateur web master and an all-around OK guy. I'm also a proud Conservative, registered Republican with Libretarian leanings, proud geek, 80s metal-head and Carolina Panther-fan. I love sci-fi conventions, NFL and college football, love to play paintball, and live rock concerts.

I am a former Star Wars fan (no longer thanks to George Lucas and Ep 1-3), fair-weather Star Trek fan (a fan when its good, hate it when its bad), and a big Babylon 5 and Stargate fan. I am also a big fan of Farscape, Firefly and the new and old Battlestar Galactica. I love horror flicks of any kind, and sci-fi flicks that have a plot. You will occasionally see me comment on the things I am a fan of on my mini-blog.

My most recent claims to fame are game reviewer for Gaming Report web site (more than 100+ reviews posted), a few games reviews published in Scrye Magazine and gaming coordinator for MACE and ConCarolinas and formerly of StellarCon. I have also been Con Chair for ConCarolinas from 2003 to 2006. During those year, CC became one of the fastest growing cons in the region. I have been published - a Babylon 5 RPG adventure in Mongoose Publishing magazine Signs & Portents and a few reviews in Scrye Magazine (2008)- and I have also helped Greg Porter write the EABALarp rules for his EABA line. My future plans include a possible d20 PDF supplement, continue to run games for my group of guys and maybe finish that novel I have always wanted to write.

That's about all I am… sorry, no shining star of society. Just a regular guy, sort of.

Who would care Who I am?: I really don't know, but I suppose you do if you have read this far. I am not a self-centered, self-righteous man.... well, not completely. I've done a few things I am proud of and I suppose I would like to share. The primary motivation behind this web site was Role-Playing Games, but as time has gone on, it has expanded a little. So if you care, thanks. If you don't... go away.

My Body Art

My Body Art: September 1, 1999, I did something I've always wanted to do: got a tattoo. Nothing huge, something simple - wolf's head on my right arm. Since then, I have gotten other tattoos...

My Family

My Sweet Angel: I have found someone, after a long period of rough times and wrong people. After spending 10 years with the wrong person, I learned a lot about myself and what would make me happy. I truly believe I have found her, and her name is Stephanie. We were married March 23, 2002 and look forward to a long and happy life together. I have never been happier in my entire life than when I am with her.

My House: April, 2003 we bought a house in Fort Mill. I love it and look forward to finally settling down - if that ever is possible with me.

My Daughter: May 18, 2004 - My daughter Taylor Anne was born. I could not have asked for a more perfect child. She is wonderful.

My Son: November 3, 2007, Keegan William was born. Now I have one of each. I could not be happier.

My 2nd Daughter: July 10, 2011, Aubrey Jade was born. Another little girl and this one was born on my wife's birthday.

The Green and the Gray

Another claim to fame - A group of us donated some money to get our names in this Timothy Zahn book as characters. The names were myself, my wife, my step son Jordan and Jeff Smith.
